Company Bio SHOW...
New City Stage Company is dedicated to presenting high quality professional theatre that engages audiences on a variety of levels. We strive to create a stimulating theatrical experience that evokes thoughtful reflection and discussion.
We draw our season from contemporary and classical works, with a special focus on including Philadelphia premieres, plays by local playwrights, and rarely done award-winning works from playwrights whose work is not normally found in the region.
New City Stage Company is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit theatre company located in the Rittenhouse Square section of Philadelphia that was founded in 2006.
Ginger Dayle and Russ Widdall are co-Artistic Directors.
Savage/Love and Tounges is our first Fringe Festival production, and the first show of our 2011-12 Season: The Terror Within.

Sam Shepard’s companion pieces unfurl in this physical theatrical experience. Savage/Love is a propulsive quest of a lonely man looking for love and a prelude to Tongues, a passionate fever dream in which a dying man delivers his last rites. These stream of consciousness confessionals are performed with live musical accompaniment.
