Yael Rasooly's work creates a visual language that aims to be moving, humorous and frightening. Using a multi-disciplinary approach between different forms of theater, music, and contemporary puppetry, her performances tell stories moving between fiction, reality, and memory. Yael initially trained as a classical singer, and went on to study theater design. She graduated from the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem in directing and puppetry. Since 2006, Yael has been invited to leading International festivals throughout Europe, South America, and the Far East. PAPER CUT was First Prize winner for the 2011 International Festival of Solo Puppeteers in Lodz, Poland.
