Spring 2009 Series
April 4-11, 2009
THE STRIPED HAT*
by Christine Cox. Brand new mom, Christine is inspired by her favorite childhood author Dr. Suess and returns with a new vision of a playful and humorous ballet enjoyed by the very young and adults alike. This world premiere will surprise you with beautiful costumes by Martha Chamberlain, interactive sets by Pedro Silva and Mozart's tunes!
LARGO*
by Edwaard Liang. A renowned choreographer and a former dancer with New York City Ballet, Edwaard Liang premieres his new work set to the music of JS Bach. Liang's ballet will sure challenge the BalletX dancers and thrill all your senses!
WONDER WHY
by Matthew Neenan. This classic audience favorite is now revived with some new twists and turns! Inspired by "Letter to Artists" written by Pope John Paul II and danced to little-known songs by Sinead O'Connor, this work is a perfect exclamation mark to an exciting and unpredictable evening of dance.

Summer 2009 Series
July 22-26, 2009
WORLD PREMIERE
by guest choreographer TBA
BROKE APART
by Matthew Neenan, is set to song-ballads by Martha Wainwright, Joanna Newsom and Cyndi Lauper. "The troupe of eight dancers fly through Neenan's unpredictable duets as well as his aity transitional classical phrasing. Neenan likes to break out of the classical box, but he doesn't deconstruct ballet - he just uses the lexicon as another wrench in his toolbox." (Lewis Whittington, Broad Street Review)
SCENES VIEW 2
by Jorma Elo, one of the most sought-after choreographers in the United States and Europe. Scored to J.S. Bach, this is a dance piece of "clean architectural lines laced with pyrotechnic ballet steps."
Both works were premiered at the 2006 Philadelphia Live Arts/Fringe Festival to sold-out houses.
