Hot Summer Dancing at the Wilma!

BalletX celebrates its dance season finale at The Wilma Theater and presents
Summer 2009 Series
July 22 - 26, 2009

The program features new and old works full of innovative flavor and superb artistry!

Le BAISER INEVITABLE (The Inevitable Kiss)
by Jodie Gates, a former principal ballerina with The Pennsylvania Ballet and a founder of CaDance/Laguna dance Festival, CA. Danced to Ravel’s stunning Bolero, it is a new-classical ballet, full of sensuality driven by the music.

SCENES VIEW 2
by Jorma Elo, one of the most sought-after choreographers in the United States and Europe. This is a juxtaposition of hip-hop and classical ballet with music score by J.S. Bach.

BROKE APART
by BalletX co-artistic director Matthew Neenan, is danced to a compilation of songs by female vocal artists: Joanna Newsom, Cynthia Hopkins, Martha Wainwright, and a female duet She-Haw.

BalletX successfully premiered BROKE APART and SCENES VIEW at the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival in 2006.
